About the author

Majid Golpaygani is the founder and CEO of “Blue Ocean Dolphin,” a management consulting company. 

He translated the book “Blue Ocean Strategy” in 2006. After that, he finished translating the book “Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Sustainability” in 2013. 

He published the book “Corporate Social Responsibility in the Tourism Industry” based on research conducted in the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of Iran in 2017. 

In the same year, he was nominated as the best researcher of the year in the field of tourism. In different journals, he has published over thirty articles in information technology, business strategies, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility.


Majid Golpaygani was born on February 6, 1967. He achieved his B.S. degree in computer engineering from the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. After that, he got his master’s degree in industrial engineering from the Industrial Management Organization. He continued his studies in DBA and MBA courses at Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.

He started his professional career in 1991 in programming and teaching computers. He established his own computer company with the cooperation of his brother. Years later, as an Oracle database specialist, he entered Sapco, a designer and supplier of Iran Khodro automotive parts. He started working as the head of the office and then the information technology department director in the Iran Industrial Development and Renovation Organization in 2000. Since 2010, he has been teaching at the Industrial Management Institute.
